REF-021 · OVERVIEW

Six Things Worth Knowing

These are the aspects of our work that matter most to the people who bring watches to us.

B-01

Experienced Hands

Our lead watchmaker trained formally in Switzerland and has worked on movements from the 1930s through to current production. That range matters when something unusual arrives.

B-02

Written Timing Records

Every overhaul includes a printed timing report. You can see what the movement was doing when it arrived and how it performs after service.

B-03

No Surprises on Price

Prices are stated up front. If additional issues surface mid-repair, work pauses and you decide whether to continue. Nothing is added without your agreement.

B-04

Proper Cleaning Process

Components are cleaned ultrasonically before lubrication — old lubricant residue removed, not simply diluted with fresh oil on top.

B-05

12-Month Warranty

Overhaul work carries a 12-month service warranty on the repair performed. If the issue recurs within that period, we address it at no additional cost.

B-06

Walk-In Friendly

Bracelet and strap adjustments are handled same-visit in most cases. No appointment needed for these — just drop in during workshop hours.

REF-022 · EXPERTISE

Formal Training, Practical Experience

Watchmaking is a craft that compounds over time. Our lead technician trained at a recognised horological school and has worked on movements across Switzerland, Japan, and Germany for more than a decade. This breadth means we recognise complications and quirks that a generalist repair shop would not encounter.

  • Manual-wind, automatic, and quartz calibres
  • Vintage and modern movements serviced
  • Chronograph and complication experience

REF-023 · PROCESS

A Consistent Process, Every Time

We follow the same sequence on every overhaul regardless of the watch's value or complexity. There is no abbreviated version for less expensive pieces. The process is what it is, and it is what produces a reliable result.

REF-024 · TOOLS

Current Equipment, Traditional Approach

We use an ultrasonic cleaning system, a timing machine capable of measuring in multiple positions, and calibrated tools suited to fine movements. These are not luxuries in watchmaking; they are requirements for work done to a reasonable standard.

  • Multi-position timing machine measurement
  • Ultrasonic parts cleaning system
  • Calibrated demagnetisation

Why Equipment Matters

A timing machine removes guesswork. Rather than judging performance by listening or comparing to a reference, we measure amplitude, rate, and beat error across positions. You receive the numbers, not a verbal description of how it feels.

REF-026 · DISTINCTIONS

What Makes Us Different

Timing Documentation as Standard

Very few independent workshops include a printed timing record with overhaul work. We do it as a matter of course — it keeps us accountable and gives you something concrete to refer to.

Work Pauses if Scope Changes

If we open a movement and find something that changes the scope of work, we stop and contact you. We do not proceed and add to the bill afterwards.

No Overselling of Services

If a watch needs only a strap change, that is what we recommend. If the movement is running well and does not yet require an overhaul, we say so rather than scheduling unnecessary work.

Repairs Stay in Our Workshop

We do not send watches to third-party technicians. All work is carried out in our Nimman Road workshop by our own team. You always know where your piece is.
